MY DREAM: FOR NATURAL AND MODERN MEDICINE TO COLLABORATE

During one of my home-births I experienced a third degree tear. A couple hours after delivering my healthy baby girl, one of my midwives drove me to the hospital so that I could receive a level of care she wasn't able to offer me. The doctor who took care of me there commented that this was how it was supposed to be, the hospital supporting the home-birth midwife and client in the way they needed. My baby was at home with her dad and another midwife, doing perfectly fine, while I was being stitched up in the OR. I reflect on that memory with warmth in my heart and gratitude for the collaborative care given.
